Waha Oil Company is one of the largest oil companies in Libya, operating in the exploration and production of petroleum. As part of the National Oil Corporation of Libya, it plays a vital role in managing the country's oil resources and maintaining a stable energy supply. Known for its extensive operations and stringent safety standards, Waha Oil Company attracts talent from all over the world, including Indonesia.
One of the Indonesian talents working there is Muhammad Abrar, a Chemical Engineering graduate from Universitas Malikussaleh. Abrar is well known for his intelligence, kindness, and willingness to help his peers with their studies. During his college years, he frequently represented the university in English debate competitions, showcasing his strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Abrar's career started as an Operator at PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), one of Indonesia's leading fertilizer producers. This role served as a crucial stepping stone in his journey within the chemical and petroleum industries. Through dedication and a strong work ethic, Abrar earned the opportunity to work at Waha Oil Company in Libya, where he now serves as a professional in the oil industry.
Despite his busy schedule abroad, Abrar maintains a deep sense of responsibility towards his juniors at his alma mater. Recently, he organized a session to share his experience working abroad with the students of Universitas Malikussaleh. In this session, Abrar provided insights into the challenges and opportunities of working in the international oil industry, along with tips on how to prepare for a competitive job market.
